July 21-23 -- Some 150 academics, students, forensic pathologists, law enforcement officials and lawyers will gather for the second North American Forensic Entomology Conference in º£½ÇÔ´´, Calif. Forensic entomologists analyze insects and their arthropod relatives -- particularly those that inhabit decomposing bodies -- to determine details, such as time of death, that are significant in legal proceedings. The conference will include forensic arthropod-identification workshops, demonstrations and lectures. Meetings and colloquia will be held in the Social Sciences and Humanities Building at UC º£½ÇÔ´´, with registration, poster sessions and socials at the nearby Hallmark Inn.
