Updated 11:30 a.m. Dec. 16: The Silo Market will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 11.

Coffee House to Close Through at Least Winter Quarter

The Coffee House will close down after Friday (Jan. 15) and remain closed through the end of winter quarter and possibly longer, director Darin Schluep announced.

Keeping the Campus Fed

Food options on campus are expanding, both for quick bites to eat and for people experiencing food insecurity.

At the Coffee House, student employees have adapted to a new way of serving customers: on-campus deliveries ordered through GrubHub app. Walk-in customers also are welcome, but there is no indoor dining. Order your takeout at a register, then wait in the dining room (which has been emptied of tables and chairs) while staying at least 6 feet away from other customers.

MU, CoHo Reopening With Modifications

Just in time for the first day of fall quarter, the Memorial Union reopened this morning (Sept. 28), and the Coffee House will follow on Wednesday (Sept. 30) 鈥� both with modifications to account for the pandemic.

CoHo Alum Takes Another Crack at 鈥楾op Chef鈥�

鈥淐hef Joe鈥� is back! Tune in this Thursday (March 19) to cheer on UC 海角原创 alumnus Joe Sasto 鈥�10 as he competes in the 17th season of Top Chef.

In a phone interview with Dateline UC 海角原创, Sasto shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming 鈥渁ll-star鈥� season, which brings back 15 former winners, fan-favorites and frontrunners. 鈥淓verybody鈥檚 incredibly talented,鈥� he said. 鈥淚t will make for a great competition.鈥�

THE DOWNLOAD: Crisis Text Line, Ninja Warrior, CoHo Recipe

When Student Health and Counseling Services set out to promote the new crisis text line available to campus, they turned to their target audience: students.

The campus department commissioned a student filmmaker to create the above video, which is intended to raise the profile of the new, free resource.

From the CoHo kitchen to the Final 3 of Top Chef, the hit Bravo TV cooking competition 鈥� that鈥檚 our Aggie alumnus Joe Sasto!

鈥淧eople always ask restaurant people where they got their start, and I say, 鈥楾he Coffee House,鈥� and they don鈥檛 get it,鈥� Sasto said in a phone interview with Dateline UC 海角原创 today (Feb. 27). 鈥淚t鈥檚 one of those things that鈥檚 so hard to describe unless you鈥檝e been there.鈥�
